Alkagesta took part in the 2026 Argus Fertilizer Caspian, Black Sea and Eastern European Markets Conference in Istanbul, with discussions covering changes in commodity flows and opportunities in export markets. According to Alkagesta Newsroom, the Argus Media event attracted more than 450 participants representing over 250 companies from 45 countries, bringing together producers, traders and businesses providing services to the fertiliser trade.

The company’s delegation comprised Fertilizer Desk Lead Vusal Muradov, Fertilizer Trader Tural Sabirzade and Mustafa Yigit Shen from its operations function. During the two-day programme, they engaged with producers, trading businesses, logistics providers and market intelligence specialists. The conference’s regional agenda covered the Caspian, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, including approaches to cooperation as trading patterns evolve across those markets.

In its account of the event, Alkagesta Newsroom described shipping corridor disruption as a significant challenge for the global fertiliser market. The company argued that recent disruption had highlighted weaknesses in supply chains designed primarily around efficiency rather than resilience. It also stressed that bringing physical supply movements back to normal takes time, rather than being achieved through a single step. Those observations were presented as the market backdrop to its conference participation.

Alkagesta said its fertiliser desk handles nitrogen, phosphate and speciality products, drawing on international sources to supply destinations with strong agricultural demand fundamentals. Its stated approach centres on developing enduring supply relationships in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and emerging agricultural markets. The newsroom account linked that commercial focus to the broader discussion of supply routes and market cooperation in Istanbul.

Separately, Alkagesta Newsroom reported that the company had recently secured access to the Argus Open Markets window for European biodiesel, HVO and UCO. Alkagesta described the move as part of its expanding involvement in Argus price assessment processes across different commodity markets.
